​There are several factors right now that make tax planning very difficult this year. With the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2018 sunsetting next year, it’s hard to make definitive moves before we know if those tax provisions will be extended or eliminated.
 
Of course the upcoming election will have a lot to say about that, along with many other potential changes. While tax law stayed relatively status quo for many years, the past 10 years have brought sweeping changes to taxes. It seems politicians are coming in looking to make huge splashes in this arena, more than ever before.
 
So the end of this year may be more of a holding pattern, where we all sit back and wait to see what happens with the elections and corresponding tax changes.
